James Micklethwait appointed to Upad's advisory board
Upad are pleased to announce they have appointed James Micklethwait, the former Head of Product Development at Rightmove, as an advisory board member to its growing PropTech business. Micklethwait was previously responsible for Rightmove’s 100 strong technology team and product strategy.
James Davis, CEO and founder, commented: “I’m delighted to welcome James Micklethwait to the Upad team given his significant experience and calibre. His achievements at Rightmove, one of the most respected technology companies in the world, speak for themselves. With our latest figures suggesting that over 90% of UK tenants now start their rental search online, optimising the digital customer journey is imperative. James has unsurpassed expertise in this field, specifically relating to property searchers.”
James Micklethwait commented: “Since leaving Rightmove I have been drawn to areas where I believe technology has the greatest potential to change our industry. In my view, lettings is one of those areas and I am very impressed with what James and the team have achieved to date. I look forward to helping the company achieve its ambitious growth plans.”
Upad has also appointed a further executive to its advisory board, Eddie Holmes of PropTech Consult, who will assist the PropTech company with its ambition to become the UK’s dominant letting agent.
Upad, the UK’s largest online lettings agency, is disrupting the traditional high street letting agent model. With more than 23 team members, they have gained popularity by allowing landlords to get their property advertised on Rightmove and Zoopla (at a fraction of the cost), whilst still being able to provide an excellent customer service. Upad has helped rent over 43,000 properties to date.
