While this is the main benefit of offering a zero deposit option, it also means:

  • Tenants only pay one week's rent as a deposit for a zero deposit guarantee, as opposed to a traditional six week's rent for a deposit to be protected in a government backed scheme.
  • Landlords reduce their admin and paperwork - with a zero deposit guarantee you don't need to do the work to protect it!
  • Landlords are protected in the same way as they would be if a traditional deposit was taken, so they don't risk being out of pocket in the event of repairs being needed at the end of the tenancy.
